Ashurst ‘Willow’ Wood Win YR6 Cricket Tournament

On Wednesday 24th of June, some schools in East Grinstead travelled to East Grinstead Sports Club to play a cricket tournament.

In Group 1 there were four teams including:

• Ashurst Wood l
• Halsford Park
• Crawley Down
• Turners Hill

The first game was Ashurst Wood v Crawley Down which Crawley Down won by 32 runs because Ashurst Wood lost 7 wickets (which is -5).

Ashurst Wood’s second game came against Halsford Park in which Ashurst Wood won their first game of the tournament by 18 runs. 228 – 246.

The last game in Group 1 was between Ashurst Wood and Turners Hill with the winners being Ashurst Wood winning by 53 runs.

In the semi-final the score was:

Ashurst Wood: 249 runs
Copthorne: 217 runs
Won by 32 runs

In the final the score was:

Ashurst Wood: 239 runs
Crawley Down: 227 runs
Won by 12 runs

We thought that we fielded well and that helped us win the matches.

The day was very good fun and a good time was had by all.
