KINGS LEISURE CENTRE:

A whole range of sports and activities are available at the centre especially for young people of all ages. Activities include aerobics, basketball, judo, squash and trampolining.  An extensive programme of courses and activities are available throughout the year and during each school holiday.   Kings also hosts the annual Sports Fair event, the largest of its kind in the south east in which around 800 young people have the opportunity to play sport and meet local clubs.

EAST GRINSTEAD SPORTS CLUB:

Details:

Probably best known as home to East Grinstead Hockey Club.  East Grinstead Sports Club has now opened its doors to the local community.  With improved facilities, the Sports Club offers a range of opportunities for individuals, schools, clubs and organisations.  Also home to East Grinstead Cricket Club, Felbridge Badminton Club and the Sports Club Squash section.  The Sports Club is home to the annual primary school TOP Sport Festival in which over 100 young people attend.

Facilities:

Sports hall - 4 badminton court size, 2 floodlit all weather pitches, 1 sand and 1 water, cricket nets (indoors and outdoors), 2 squash courts, cricket pitch, bar and restaurant and changing rooms. EAST GRINSTEAD RUGBY CLUB:

Details:

This is home to East Grinstead Rugby Football Club.  The club house has been designed to accommodate a wider usage including netball, ladies rugby, tennis and the gym and incorporates disabled and baby change facilities.  The rugby section thrives with young people from the ages of six upwards participating.

DEER'S LEAP PARK: 

Details:

This offers a variety of outdoor activities set in countryside just 2 miles away from the centre of East Grinstead.  The park offers unique all weather mountain bike tracks, suitable for cyclists of all ages and abilities, as well as nature trails, walks, pond dipping and picnic areas.

Facilities:

There is a five mile main surfaced cycle track and a 3 mile cross-country track leading through the woodland.  Bikes and helmets are available to hire.  Suitable for individuals, families and even groups such as schools, youth organisations and sports clubs. The park is open everyday all year.

BLACKLAND FARM: 

Details:

The farm comprises of 122 acres of fields and woods near Ashdown Forest.  Equipped and unequipped sites are available for camping, as well as facilities for indoor camps, holidays and hiking.  A number of sporting activities are available to campers or the community and instruction and equipment is provided for the following activities:- abseiling, archery, rock climbing, skiing, canoeing and kayaking.  Other activities include:- swimming, rifle shooting, grass sledges, push ball, badminton, unihoc, rounders, mini golf, pioneering, orienteering, team building, owl hunt and nature trail.

HINDLEAP WARREN OUTDOOR CENTRE:

Details:

The centre is situated in the woods in Ashdown Forest.  Well known for its disabled facilities it also provides a number of sporting activities  available to campers or the community and instruction is provided for groups on the climbing wall, swimming pool, obstacle courses, high ropes courses, archery, initiative and team work exercises.  Other activities include:- rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking and mine exploration.

SPOONERS INDOOR BOWLS CLUB:

Details:

Used by its own bowls club and available for individual rink hire.  It opened three years ago with membership increasing annually.  Already it has players in the county matches.  The club also have a new junior section for under 18s.

THE WALLIS CENTRE: 

Details:

The Wallis centre is the Neighbourhood Youth Centre for East Grinstead area which includes West Hoathley & Sharpthorne, Ashurstwood, Crawley Down and Turners Hill.  In addition, Barony's and the Gateway Club also come under the Wallis Centre umbrella.  The centre is open to all young people aged 11 to 18 years and opens at different times to cater for different age groups and interests.

Facilities:

2 table tennis tables, 2 pool tables, unihoc, hall + equipment for yoga, aerobic activities and martial arts.  The basketball court is available Mon - Fri 1pm - 7pm and Sat - Sun 1pm - 9.30pm.  (Priority is given to under 18s).  Regular trips, courses and activities are organised.  TV and video lounge, board games, discussions, computer games, internet cafe and LOTS & LOTS MORE!
