After the fantastic success of the 'East Grinstead High 5
Alive Netball League' it was great to see so many Primary
Schools take part in the annual High 5's Netball Tournament
at Imberhorne School on the 21st March. Having watched the
high standard of play in the Tournament, it was clear to see
that the regular games in the League have improved the level
of netball in the area.
The 1st stage of the Tournament saw the Schools compete in
the group phase where they would play each team in their group
once. The top two teams would then be ranked with all 1st
placed ranked teams playing each other to determine the winners,
runners-up, and 3rd place team. The teams that finished 2nd
would then play-off to see who finished 4th, 5th and 6th.
In the Ranking phase, the final three positions were fought
out between Turners Hill, Crawley Down and Estcots. In the
first game, Crawley Down proved too strong for Turners Hill
to give them a massive boost in their race for 1st place.
The second match saw Turners Hill take on Estcots, but again
Turners Hill found the opposition to be one step ahead of
them. That result meant that the final game between Crawley
Down and Estcots would act as the decider - a fitting end
to a brilliant tournament.
In a very tough match between the top two Primary School
teams in East Grinstead, Crawley Down eventually ran out 4-1
winners to take the trophy and 1st place.
Congratulations to all of the teams that took part and a
big thank you to all of the Imberhorne Sports Leaders, the
Sackville Umpires, the teachers and coaches, and the parents
who came to support their children.
Enjoy your sport!!
