Match Report - The Meads versus St. Peters.

Team: Captain - Ellie Stow, Defenders - Ollie Hall and Matt Abel, Midfielders - Tom Waller, Cam Afshar and Marcus Ally, Striker - Todd Way.

On a blustery Wednesday afternoon, the whistle blew for the start of the match, excitement rushed through all the players' minds. The game started and straight away a shot from St. Peters was fortunately saved fantastically by Ellie. Then the ball was rolled back in and the game instantly restarted. With the ball, Tom passed to Marcus who shot and scored the opening goal, 1 - 0 to The Meads.

Again the same strategy from St. Peters, with a shot straight away that was brilliantly parried by Ellie. Then the first corner of the match was to be taken by St. Peters, but The Meads defended well. After that St. Peters launched another attack, but Cam made a brilliant sliding tackle on the left wing and put an excellent through ball into Todd for him to tackle the goalkeeper and score the second goal. 2 - 0 to The Meads.

Soon after the restart the referee blew for half time. Miss McAlpine went wild with joy and sent us back out for the second half.

Immediately following kick-off The Meads had a shot that unfortunately went wide of the goal. After a long goal kick a St. Peters forward ran into our box, but thanks to a fantastic last ditch sliding tackle from Ollie we did not concede a goal. Straight after a Meads goal kick the persistent St. Peters attack was stopped with a great tackle from Matt.

Instantly after St. Peters regained the ball and scored 2 goals within the next five minutes. The score was now 2 all - with panic in the team, The Meads eventually cleared the ball up the field which then Todd ran onto and scored a last minute winner. 3 - 2 The Meads. The End!
