
Youth Sport Action Group
AIMS
To promote sporting opportunities within the local area
via one forum where representatives from many of the interested
organisations can come together to encourage more young people
to participate in sport.
OBJECTIVES
- To promote sporting opportunities for young people aged
4 18 years and in particular young women & girls,
over 13s and young people with disabilities.
- To produce a Newsletter to keep others informed of the
work of the Group
- To organise an Annual Sports Fair
- To consider and promote the formation of more School
Club links
STRUCTURE
Membership
- Membership of the Group to comprise of a core
membership to include automatic representation from the
Youth Sport Development Officer for the area, Kings Leisure
Centre, West Sussex Youth Service and Mid Sussex District
Council.
- Other Membership, by invitation only, with Young people
making up 4050 % of the group.
- All members of the Group to demonstrate an interest in
furthering the work of the Group.
- Membership to reflect equity issues.
- Membership to be reviewed after one year.
Regular attendance at meetings encouraged. Non attendance
at 3 consecutive meetings may result in being asked to leave
the Group.
The group represents an opportunity for clubs to share
ideas and good practice.
Any clubs, organisations or individuals with an interest in
developing sport locally for young people should attend these
meetings.
